Michael is an expert on site assessment, contaminant fate and transport, regulatory compliance, and closure of contaminated sites through Texas VCP, IOP, Corrective Action, Enforcement, LPST, and Superfund programs. The focus of his work is helping real estate clients close impacted properties and assisting businesses in Pollution Prevention (P2) and Green Biz solutions. His expertise with risk-based corrective action strategies has been utilized with even some of the toughest environmental problems like chlorinated solvents and heavy metals.
Professional Experience
Michael Whitehead has over 20 years of professional experience with W&M Environmental and other Environmental Consulting firms. His professional experience includes sampling, project plan development, QA/QC, health & safety, data evaluation, regulatory assistance, and project management His project experience includes real estate due diligence, remediation, federal and state Superfund projects, and closure of contaminated properties. Mr. Whitehead has worked on virtually every aspect of Superfund sites including HRS, project work plans, RI/FS, RA/RD, Risk Assessment, and final closure. Additionally, Mr. Whitehead is experienced with a wide range of industrial compliance issues including wastewater effluent disposal, land disposal of sludge, landfill design testing, compliance audits, storm water pollution prevention plans (SWP3), spill control (SPCC), pollution prevention, and Green Business strategies. In 1995, Michael founded W&M Environmental Group with a goal to provide clients with face to face management from experienced professionals. From the beginning, the focus of W&M was to quickly obtain closure on sites using risk-based strategies whenever possible.
