The EPA and TCEQ update regulations and policies on handling hazardous waste every year. Companies and organizations that handle hazardous waste need to be aware of these changes and implement them to remain in compliance and reduce liability. That is why the regulations require annual training for all personnel who handle hazardous waste in Texas. W&M is hosting a course on Hazardous Waste Management Training in Houston and Dallas in the fall to help companies keep abreast of rule changes and meet the requirements for staff training. Heather Woodward and Lori Siegelman will be the instructors for this training.
The course in Dallas will again be hosted at the Hackberry Creek Country Club in Irving, TX. The Houston course will be hosted at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston.
The course dates are:
Dallas – September 17 at Hackberry Creek Country Club, Irving, TX
Houston – October 1 at Bay Oaks Country Club, Houston, TX
Topics will include:
- Identification and classification of waste
- Waste container handling, management and storage requirements
- Requirements for hazardous waste generators
- Manifests and recordkeeping requirements
- Pollution prevention ideas
The course meets the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirement for hazardous waste training per 40 CFR 262.34(a) and 265.16, and 30 TAC 335.69 (a) (4) (A), which require annual training for all personnel who handle hazardous waste.
