W&M would like to introduce our newest project manager and certified Ecologist, Anjali Karve. Anjali holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry and Zoology from Bangalore University in India, and a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Her Master’s research focused on the ecology and life history evolution of a common fish species (threespine stickleback) in Alaska. After completing her Master’s, Anjali moved to Toronto, Canada where she worked in the environmental industry for several years before moving on to pursue a PhD in Forestry at the University of Toronto. She is currently in the process of completing her PhD research on the effects of forest management practices on the population and behavioral ecology of small mammals in boreal forests of Canada. Anjali is certified as a professional ecologist by the Ecological Society of America (ESA).
Anjali has worked in the environmental industry for over five years and has expertise in environmental impact studies, threatened/endangered species assessments, wetland delineations, ecological risk assessments, and natural resources planning and management. She is a seasoned field biologist with over 15 years of experience having studied and worked in various terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems across India, Canada and the US. She has provided consulting services for a variety of clients in the transportation, infrastructure, mining and energy sectors.
