Environmental Experience

Emile Hanna, P.E. is W&M Environmental Group’s Division Manager for the environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance practice area in Houston, Texas. Mr. Hanna has over 17 years of project experience as a senior consultant in environmental and civil engineering design and analysis; environmental compliance, permitting, auditing, and planning; environmental due diligence; environmental site assessment, investigation, and remediation. In addition, Mr. Hanna has substantial EHS program development including environmental management systems. Mr. Hanna is well versed in identifying, analyzing and managing environmental risks associated with federal, state and local requirements for industrial, commercial, and construction projects. He supports clients in the private business sector including oil and gas exploration and production; oil field services companies; manufacturing; petrochemical; and aggregate, cement and power plants.

Mr. Hanna has a multi-media experience that includes water, wastewater and storm water planning, permitting and reporting as required under the Clean Water Act (CWA). This includes the preparation of the necessary plans and permits in accordance with the Public Water System (PWS) requirements; the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program; the preparation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and Best Management Practices (BMPs). In addition, Mr. Hanna is experienced in solid and hazardous waste planning, permitting and reporting as required under the Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); and the preparation of Pollution Prevention Plans/Waste Minimization Plans (P2 Plans). Mr. Hanna is proficient in the preparation of Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans and Facility Response Plans (FRP) under the Oil Pollution Act (OPA). Other experience includes Air Permitting under the Clean Air Act (CAA), specifically Permit-By-Rule (PBRs).
